Assistance Program
EmPower New Yorksm
EmPower New Yorksm offers no-cost energy services for income-qualified families to help you reduce your energy and lower your costs. Services may include the following:
- Replacement of old, inefficient appliances;
- Installation of high-efficiency lighting;
- Tips on how to save energy;
- Insulation and other home efficiency measures (in limited situations).

Weatherization Assistance Program
Assists income-eligible families and individuals by reducing their heating/cooling costs and improving the safety of their homes through energy efficiency measures. Both single-family and multi-family buildings are assisted. Energy efficiency measures performed through the program include the following:
- air sealing (weatherstripping, caulking),
- wall and ceiling insulation,
- heating system improvements or replacement,
- efficiency improvements in lighting,
- hot water tank and pipe insulation,
- and refrigerator replacements with highly efficient Energy Star rated units.
