Electric
The Home Energy SavingsCentral Program offers rebates of up to $600 on energy efficient equipment. This is for residential electric customers who upgrade their cooling systems with specific types of energy efficient equipment, such as central air conditioners, central air-source heat pumps, geothermal heat pumps, and programmable thermostats. Refer to the rebate form for rebate levels or see the table below. (We consider a ductless split system to be a central air conditioner, so these are eligible if they meet the energy efficiency requirements.)

You must use a SavingsCentral Trade Ally to qualify for SavingsCentral rebates. Residential Trade Allies are listed here. Please use this list to get quotes for the installation of energy efficient equipment at your home.

Turn in you old, inefficient room air conditioner and then get a rebate!
Drop off your old, working air conditioner at a participating retailer, have it recycled for free, and receive a $50 or $100 rebate toward the purchase of a new, ENERGY STAR air conditioner. The retailers and guidelines are on the cool savings page.

Geothermal
While there are significant installation costs for new geothermal heating and cooling systems, they have amazingly low operating costs. Many view geothermal as the most energy efficient method of heating and cooling your home. Let SavingsCentral help you with the installation cost of a new geothermal system. We currently offer rebates of up to $1,000 per ton for energy efficient geothermal heat pumps installed at residences. PLEASE NOTE: Only customers who heat primarily with electricity and have electric central cooling are eligible for incentives under this program.

Duct and Air Sealing
Incentives of up to $600 are available for residential customers to professionally seal leaky home and duct systems after having an eligible SavingsCentral Trade Ally perform blower door and duct blaster testing. Please see the rebate form for details.

An online energy audit for your home. (If you follow this link, from the home page, hit ENTER after typing in your zip code instead of clicking on the green GO button). This home Energy SaverTM calculator helps consumers identify the best ways to save energy in their homes, and find the resources to make the savings happen. This calculator was the first Internet-based tool for calculating energy use in residential buildings. Since each home is unique, an in-home audit by a BPI-certified contractor is the best way to find ways to save. But this calculator has proven to be helpful for many users. Individual results will vary. The project has been sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy, as part of the national ENERGY STAR Program for improving energy efficiency in homes, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the US Department of Housing and Urban Development's PATH program, and other agencies and cooperatives. PLEASE NOTE: From the home page, hit ENTER after typing in your zip code instead of clicking on the green GO button.

Get a full energy audit at your home with a BPI-certified contractor through the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) Home Performance with ENERGY STAR® program. Please note that NYSERDA does not do the assessment; NYSERDA will help you get a home energy assessment.
